Sunlight : Pinus sylvestris prefers full sun. It should receive direct sunlight for most of the day. Protect from excessive shade.

Watering : Keep the soil slightly moist, but avoid waterlogging. Pine trees do not like very wet soil. Use a well-draining bonsai soil mix.

Humidity : Pine trees tolerate moderate levels of humidity. Avoid placing your bonsai pot in very humid locations to prevent root rot.

Pruning : Prune longer, more untidy branches regularly to maintain the shape of the bonsai. Avoid over-pruning to avoid weakening the tree.

Fertilization : Fertilize your Pinus sylvestris during the growing season (spring and early summer) with a fertilizer specifically for conifers. Reduce fertilization in late summer and fall.

Transplanting : Transplant your Pinus sylvestris every 3-4 years, preferably in the spring before new growth begins. Use a bonsai soil mix suitable for conifers.

Flowering : Pine trees do not produce showy flowers like azaleas, but they can develop male and female cones. Proper pruning can encourage healthy, vigorous growth.
