Originating from Europe, Malus ‘Everest’ is highly valued in bonsai for its compact habit, delicate branching and dense foliage. Its green leaves provide texture and vitality, while the tree maintains a balanced and elegant appearance throughout the year.
Sunlight: Prefers full sun; partial shade may reduce foliage density.
Watering: Requires regular watering, keeping the soil slightly moist. Avoid waterlogging.
Humidity: Adapts well to normal indoor or outdoor environments. Misting is optional, especially in dry climates.
Pruning: Prune during spring and summer to shape the canopy and encourage fine ramification.
Fertilization: Apply balanced fertilizer during active growth. Reduce feeding in autumn and winter.
Repotting: Every 2–3 years, in spring, using a well-draining substrate.
Flowering and Fruiting: Produces small white flowers in spring and decorative red fruits in autumn, adding colour and seasonal interest.
