Akadama Medium Grain 3-6mm - 3L
Akadama is a clayey substrate of volcanic origin, imported from Japan. It is a high-quality product, dried at high temperature immediately after extraction and then sieved and separated by particle size.
Composed of hard particles, Akadama helps retain water and nutrients, gradually releasing them to the bonsai roots. Its porous structure allows efficient drainage and ensures good soil aeration — ideal conditions for the healthy development of fine roots. Its neutral pH and high cation exchange capacity promote nutrient absorption and contribute to the natural resistance of the plants. It can be used alone or mixed with other substrates and is especially recommended for medium and large pots, according to grain size.
